In an improved performance from Leicester City, the King Power Stadium outfit returned to winning ways, thrashing West Ham 4-1 in a Premier League match on Wednesday night.
Brendan Rodgers' side scored twice in each half; Harvey Barnes and Ricardo Pereira giving them a 2-0 advantage before the break, Mark Noble's penalty early in the second half gave West Ham a little bit of hope before two late Ayoze Perez goals gave Leicester City a comfortable victory.
Nigeria internationals Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho came off the bench to replaced the injured Nampalys Mendy and Jamie Vardy in the 34th and 44th minute respectively.
Iheanacho was decisive after his introduction, winning a crucial penalty in the 81st minute after he was fouled by Angelo Ogbonna and set up the Foxes fourth goal scored by his strike partner Perez.
Speaking after the game screened live by BT Sport, former Tottenham Hotspur coach Tim Sherwood revealed that referee David Coote made the right call by awarding a penalty to Leicester City.
He said : "Iheanacho came on for Jamie Vardy, every time he comes on the pitch he effects it.
"He's driving forward and he just waits for contact and he just goes down and why shouldn't you. You know It's a clumsy tackle from Ogbonna.
"I think there was no clear and obvious error from the referee who gives it at the time and Ayoze Perez smashes that one into the roof of the net".
Iheanacho has made eleven appearances in all competitions this season and has contributed to an impressive nine goals (6 goals, 3 assists).
