Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder and coach Tim Sherwood has credited fit-again Leicester City star Wilfred Ndidi for James Maddison's recent good run of form.
And the statistics back up his claims, with the England international involved in three goals (2 goals, 1 assist) in his last four appearances in the Premier League, coinciding with Ndidi's return to action from an adductor injury.
Sherwood pointed out that Ndidi's return has provided more energy in midfield, allowing the attacking midfielders such as Maddison, Youri Tielemans and Dennis Praet to flourish.
Ahead of Leicester City's Boxing Day clash vs Manchester United, Sherwood said on Premier League Productions :"They sit back and Brendan likes to counter-attack, he wants his fullbacks to pretty much stay where they are.
"They have got Ndidi back, I think he's given them an injection of energy which they have been missing in that midfield area, to supplement Tielemans and Dennis Praet.
"Maddison's come back to life because they've got their energy in the midfield area and if Manchester United fullbacks leave, Vardy would be sprinting in there, he would be hurting them and stretching them down the sides."
Leicester City have kept two clean sheets in the Premier League, won three matches from a possible four and registered seven goals since Ndidi made his come back against Sheffield United on December 6.
