Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Darren Bent is urging Everton to sign Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha as a replacement for Alex Iwobi on the left wing.
The Nigeria international struggled in his first season at the Toffees, with a hand in only three goals (2 goals, 1 assist) in 29 games across all competitions - his lowest tally in a single season since turning professional.
Bent is concerned about Iwobi's lack of end product and believes the signing of Zaha can address that problem.
"He’s definitely a signing that they need because they need people with quality," Bent said to Football Insider.
"For me, Alex Iwobi doesn’t do it for me, his end product’s not good enough, he doesn’t score enough goals, doesn’t create enough goals so he’s not really doing anything.
"For me, if Zaha can get himself down there and play on the left-hand side with Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin, Gomes, I really like what they’re doing down there. If I’m Everton, I go for that one 100 per cent."
Iwobi was the most expensive Nigerian player in history when he moved to Everton from Arsenal last summer for a fee of 35m pounds if add-ons are included, before Victor Osimhen broke the record last month with his 70m euros switch to Napoli.
