According to FC Midtjylland director Claus Steinlein, there is a gentleman's agreement in place for Frank Onyeka to be sold in the summer transfer window.
The one-cap Nigeria international had been expected to depart the Danish champions last summer but that plan was thwarted after the Wolves qualified for the group stage of the UEFA Champions League.
Onyeka had a banner 2020, making his full debut for the Super Eagles and reaching a 100-game milestone for FC Midtjylland and is widely regarded as one of the top holding midfielders in Scandinavia at the moment.
"We have made an agreement with him that he will leave in the summer of 2021," Steinlein told Tipsbladet.
"We have a longer agreement with him but gave him a salary increase recently because he has earned it based on his performance.
"The plan is for him to win The Double with FC Midtjylland this spring, and then he will go to Europe, while others will fill in the big shoes he leaves behind in FC Midtjylland."
Onyeka, who extended his contract with Midtjylland in 2019, started all of the club's six matches in the group stage of this season's Champions League.
