FK Ventspils striker Adeleke Akinyemi has won the Virsliga Player of the Month award for July 2018.
The 20-year-old was in red-hot form last month, scoring five goals in three consecutive matches in the Latvian top-flight, and rose to the top of the scoring charts with 13 goals.
Akinyemi netted against Metta / LU on July 15 before scoring two goals each against Valmiera / BSS and Jelgava.
He also excelled in the qualifying rounds of Europa League, scoring seven goals in total in matches against Luftëtari Gjirokastër and Bordeaux.
Although he received many accolades for the four goals he scored in Ventspils's 5-0 win over Luftëtari Gjirokastër, the highest number of goals he has scored in one game is five, against Monarhs in a Cup game in July 2017.
The marksman is in contention for a Super Eagles call-up for next month's 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Seychelles, according to manager Gernot Rohr.
