With a statement on the official website, National League club Woking have confirmed that former Nigeria U23 invitee Tim Akinola has signed a new deal.
The midfielder has signed a two-year deal to end speculation over his future, with the contract scheduled to run until the end of the 2027–28 season.
Allnigeriasoccer.com extensively reported during the January transfer window that Akinola was drawing interest from a number of clubs, including York City, Rochdale, Peterborough United and Crawley Town, St Mirren and Waterford.
In a bid to ward off that growing interest, the Arsenal youth product was subsequently offered fresh terms to extend his stay at Woking.
Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report with certainty that Akinola's new contract has a five-figure release clause that can be triggered at any time, allowing him to leave Woking if an interested club submits a bid of under £100,000.
This season, the Lokoja-born midfielder has appeared in 41 games across all competitions, registering three goal involvements and has also contributed defensively.
A product of the Lincoln City academy, Akinola has previously played for Huddersfield Town, Arsenal, Al Bidda, Chesterfield, Gateshead, Dundee United, Dagenham & Redbridge and Solihull Moors, gaining valuable experience across multiple leagues.
