Gabon Make Audacious Move For Manchester United Linked Zinedine Zidane

The Gabonese Football Federation are looking for a new national team coach after recently parting company with José Antonio Camacho following a poor run of results in recent matches.

Gabon Actu, citing Gabonese Football Federation (FEGAFOOT) and the Ministry of Sports officials, has reported that former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane is the early favourite of the association to take over from the Spaniard.

Ex-Barcelona midfielder Deco was involved in negotiations prior to the Gabonese Federation appointing Paolo Duarte and Jorge Costa as coaches of The Panthers and is presently attempting to broker a deal for Zidane.

In the event that Zidane refuses the offer from Gabon, the other contenders for the job are Frenchmen Alain Giresse and Patrice Carteron.

Gabon's crazy dream to lure Zidane might end in futility as the 1998 World Cup-winning midfielder is being linked with the Manchester United job if Jose Mourinho is dismissed.

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr managed the Gabonese national team 2010-2012.
