Germany National Team : Ex-Nigeria Coach Vogts Advises German Federation To Consult Rohr, Klopp
Former Nigeria manager Berti Vogts has recommended that the German
Football Association (DFB) should consult foreign-based German
managers, including Gernot Rohr, in the wake of the national team's
ouster from the ongoing World Cup.
Defending champions Germany were eliminated from the mundial on Wednesday following their 2-0 loss to South Korea.
With the future of Joachim Loew up in the air, Vogts has suggested that the DFB should consider alternative ways to draw the right conclusions from the World Cup debacle in Russia.
''It does not make any sense to take any quick shots now,'' Vogts said in an interview with Rheinische Post.
"It would make sense to embrace the knowledge of experts. Why not
invite Jürgen Klopp, David Wagner, Gernot Rohr and others, simply have a
conversation in the association headquarters and listen to their
opinion? "
Vogts
coached the Super Eagles for a year, he resigned his position in
February 2008 after Nigeria failed to qualify for the semifinals of the
2008 African Nations Cup.
