Good news for Eric Chelle as Hamburg confirm Super Eagles invitee Otele is now fully fit after illness

Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle has received a timely boost ahead of the March internationals, with Hamburg confirming that Nigerian forward Philip Otele is now fully fit after recovering from illness.

Hamburg stated on their official website that the FC Basel loanee is available for selection ahead of Saturday evening’s Bundesliga clash against Borussia Dortmund.

The 26-year-old forward recently received his first call-up to the Super Eagles, Nigeria’s national football team.

Otele was named in the 23-man squad for upcoming international friendly matches against Iran and Jordan, scheduled to take place in Antalya, Turkey.

The Super Eagles are set to face the World Cup-bound Iran national football team on 27 March.

Four days later, they will play against the Jordan national football team in their second friendly match.

The upcoming matches in Turkey will mark Otele’s debut with the Super Eagles, as he prepares to represent Nigeria in two international friendlies.

Hamburg will aim to capitalize on Otele’s fitness and form as they take on Borussia Dortmund, while the Super Eagles prepare to incorporate the former CFR Cluj forward into their squad for the March friendlies.
