Goztepe midfielder on Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle's radar suspended in Turkiye

Talented Goztepe midfielder Anthony Dennis has been suspended by the Turkish Football Federation, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

The talented youngster will miss Saturday's Turkish Super Lig clash against Antalyaspor.

Dennis picked up a booking in the second half of Göztepe's 1-1 draw with Kocaelispor last weekend.

The caution, his eighth of the campaign, automatically triggers a one-match suspension, ruling him out of the fixture against Antalyaspor.

The 21-year-old has become a key figure under manager Stanimir Stoilov, starting 26 of a possible 30 league matches since the beginning of the season.

In total, Dennis has made 28 league appearances, scoring three goals and clocking 2,245 minutes of action.

He is among the foreign-based players monitored by Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle, having been included in the provisional squad for the Fifa World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe in March 2025.

However, he did not make the final selection, with the likes of Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi, Raphael Onyedika, Frank Onyeka and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru ahead of him in Chelle's pecking order of midfielders.
