West Ham United winger Amadou Diallo has praised Irish-Nigerian striker Mipo Odubeko following his hat-trick against Manchester United in a Premier League 2 clash on Friday night.
Trailing 2-0 against a strong opponent, Odubeko secured a victory for the Hammers when he put the icing on the cake to make it 3-2 in the third minute of added time.
The clash against his former employer was an extra motivation for Odubeko who was on the books of Manchester United for three years before switching to West Ham in October 2019.
Speaking to West Ham's official webpage, Diallo said : "We didn’t go under after we conceded the second goal.
"The boys dug in at 2-0 down and came back to win. Well played for Mipo for getting the hat-trick today – he played really well. I thought everyone played well and played as a team. "
Odubeko has been very efficient in front of goal in 2020-2021, scoring eight goals in six appearances for West Ham's development squad.
The 18-year-old has made the matchday squad for Premier League games on eleven occasions this season.
