Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has reacted to Nigeria's 2-0 victory over Algeria at the Marrakesh Stadium on Saturday evening, reassuring fans of the team's determination to sustain their impressive form in the tournament.

Osimhen delivered a standout performance against the Desert Warriors, scoring a goal and providing an assist to propel Nigeria into the semifinals.

His brilliant showing also earned him the Man of the Match award, his first since the continental showpiece kicked off in December.

Speaking after the match, Osimhen expressed his gratitude to Super Eagles supporters and acknowledged that the win was hard-fought.

"Hello to the Super Eagles fans. Thank you for your support worldwide," he said. 

"This victory was not easy and I am happy that the team got the victory against Algeria."

The Galatasaray striker also pledged to maintain the strong performances as Nigeria targets a fourth AFCON title.

"We continue to build on this momentum, and hopefully, we get to the final and win it," he added. 

The goal took Victor Osimhen's international tally to four in the tournament and further narrowed the gap to Rashidi Yekini's long-standing record for the Super Eagles.

With 35 goals now to his name at international level, Osimhen is just two strikes away from equalling Yekini's mark as Nigeria's all-time leading goalscorer.

Nigeria will next face Morocco in the semifinals, where the Galatasaray forward will be eager to maintain his impressive form and help keep the Super Eagles' title ambitions alive.
