Watford loanee Maduka Okoye is eager to make his Africa Cup of Nations debut against Egypt this evening.
Though the four goalkeepers in camp have been giving their best in the training sessions, everything is pointing to the fact that the Sparta Rotterdam netminder has won the battle for the number one role against the Pharaohs.
Okoye has featured constantly for the probable starters in the training sessions leading up to today's mouthwatering clash and started the first half of the 2-0 win over Coton Sport last Friday.
"Personally I really cannot wait, it is the only thing I am thinking about," Okoye said to NFF TV.
"The mindset is great, it is a very good spirit in the camp and everybody feels good and fit."
Nigeria have a new coach in charge for the Africa Cup of Nations Augustine Eguavoen, who took over from the dismissed Gernot Rohr in December.
Okoye has admitted that he's enjoying the training sessions under the legendary Super Eagles right-back.
"It is very good because you see differences and we've been working offensively and defensively. It is nice because you are not always doing the same thing.
"We do a lot of shooting, we are one hundred percent in front of the goal but also in the defence one hundred percent."
