'I don't know' - Nottingham Forest boss uncertain over Aina's availability for Newcastle clash

Manager Vítor Pereira has admitted he is uncertain about the availability of Ola Aina ahead of Nottingham Forest's Premier League clash with Newcastle United at the City Ground on Sunday.

The Nigeria international has not figured for Forest since sustaining an injury during the second half of the Europa League semifinal first leg meeting with Aston Villa on April 30.

He has now missed back-to-back games, having been left out of the squad for the visit to Chelsea and Aston Villa.

Forest are expected to make late checks on several players, including Ola Aina, before confirming their final squad to face the Magpies.

Providing a squad update, Pereira was quoted as saying by Nottingham Forest's official webpage: "I can’t answer because I don’t know. I don’t know about Morgan, I don’t know about Ola, I don’t know about Callum, Murillo or Dan, though I think Dan can maybe come back," Nottingham Forest coach Vítor Pereira said.

"I have to understand the situation before the game. We have a day to recharge and to come back. Then we’ll play in front of our supporters at home to try and get points and improve our current situation in the Premier League.

"Let’s see what players we have available once we have recovered."

With Ola Aina not in the squad, Nottingham Forest suffered their heaviest defeat of the season, losing 4-0 to Unai Emery's Aston Villa.

Meanwhile, Taiwo Awoniyi is in line to feature against Newcastle United after missing out on the Europa League match against Aston Villa because he was not registered for the competition.
