Ola Aina has revealed that the left wing-back role is not new to him as he was deployed in the same position several times last season at Torino.
The Nigeria international arguably put in his best performance in a Fulham shirt as Scott Parker's team recorded a historic 2-0 win against Everton on Sunday.
Playing as a left-back, Aina found joy down the left flank, and his marauding runs forward helped created chances for the strikers, one of which was converted by Josh Maja two minutes into the second half.
"I played all of last season at left wing-back, so it’s a position that I’m familiar with," Aina explained to the official website of Fulham.
"Whatever the team needs, if I can step in somewhere and fill a position, then that’s something that I’m happy to do.
"I’d like to add more assists and maybe a few more goals, so it was good to get up and running and finally get an assist this season.
"I was looking for Josh, I was looking for that ball into him, so I’m really happy it came off."
Fulham, who are seven points from safety, face Burnley at Turf Moor this evening, looking to record back-to-back wins for the first time in the Premier League this season.
