Iheanacho back in training with Celtic ahead of Europa League match against Feyenoord

Kelechi Iheanacho was pictured in training with Scottish champions Celtic on Wednesday, on the eve of their Europa League meeting with Feyenoord in Rotterdam.

The Hoops released images from the session on their official social media channels, with the Nigeria international taking part in group training.

It remains to be seen whether interim manager Martin O'Neill will include Iheanacho in the travelling party to Rotterdam.

The Super Eagles striker has been sidelined since sustaining a hamstring injury in the opening minutes of Celtic's 2-1 victory over Sturm Graz on October 23.

He has missed six consecutive matches during his recovery, including the League Cup semifinal against Rangers.

Prior to his spell on the sidelines, the 2013 Fifa U17 World Cup Golden Ball winner had made a steady start to life at Celtic Park, registering four goal involvements across eight appearances in all competitions.

Iheanacho has not featured for the Super Eagles since the Unity Cup showpiece against Jamaica, and his hopes of earning a recall for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers were dashed when injury struck.

Since the appointment of Eric Chelle as Nigeria coach, the Manchester City academy product has yet to play a competitive match under the Malian tactician.
