Kelechi Iheanacho spoke about a range of topics during Thursday afternoon's pre-match press conference, including the mood in the Super Eagles camp pre-Liberia, his form for the Super Eagles and Leicester City, and the 2022 World Cup qualifying opponents.
One of the early birds in camp, the 2013 U17 World Cup Golden Ball winner is in the frame to partner Napoli star Victor Osimhen up front against the Lone Stars.
"We are really focusing on the game, the mood in camp is good so everyone is ready, really working hard in the training sessions with the coaching staff, I think everyone is ready to go," Iheanacho stressed.
"We are happy and everything is good here so the camp is good, so we are all ready to go".
With only one goal in his last eighteen games, Iheanacho's form for the Super Eagles hasn't been that spectacular whereas he was on fire for Leicester City in the business end of last season and opened his 2021-2022 account against Manchester City in the Community Shield.
"Obviously the form is about hard work and dedication so I'm always concentrating on my work, that's what I did last season and coming into this season as well.
"In the Liberia game, I will be concentrated as well and focus on my work, and hopefully we'll have a good game and hopefully we will get a win, and we will take it on from there," Iheanacho said.
Three-time African champions Nigeria will do battle with Liberia, Cape Verde and Central African Republic in Group C of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
"All the teams in the group are very difficult so it's all going to be difficult games, the match tomorrow is going to be a difficult game as well but we need to concentrate on our work and what we've worked together since we've come and have a good game, and make sure we win the game.
"We are now concentrating on this game and when we finish with this one then we concentrate on the next game," Iheanacho added.
Iheanacho concluded by saying the he is not under pressure to deliver heading into the World Cup qualifiers against Liberia and Cape Verde.
"There is no pressure at all from my side. We just need to concentrate on our game and our work, that's what we need to do, concentrate on the opponent that we have in hand at a time.
"When we finish the game tomorrow then the next games we focus on them but right now we are just mainly focusing on this particular game tomorrow, and try to see the game through and hopefully we'll get the points that we need.
"All that matters is to win the game and we go to the next one."
