Akor Adams has expressed his delight after Sevilla’s 1-0 victory over Getafe, stressing that the identity of the goalscorer was not important as long as the team secured the win.
Adams, who has been influential for Sevilla this season, played a key role in the decisive moment before being substituted in the 89th minute, with Gerard Fernández replacing him at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez.
The Super Eagles striker demonstrated great strength to shield the ball from his marker before setting up Djibril Sow, who calmly fired into the bottom-right corner.
Speaking after the match, Adams emphasized the significance of the victory, noting that it was important for the team to build momentum and secure points in three consecutive games.
"It's important that the team has achieved this victory, earning points in three consecutive matches," Akor Adams told Sevilla's official webpage.
He further stated that the identity of the scorer was not important, emphasizing that the priority was to secure points and maintain a clean sheet, while commending the team’s collective effort.
"It doesn't matter who scores, the important thing is that we accumulate points and keep a clean sheet; the work has been good from everyone . Now it's time to think about next week," he added.
Akor Adams has been in outstanding form for Sevilla this season, registering six goals and three assists in 20 league appearances.
However, despite his overall impact, Adams has experienced a dip in recent games, going four consecutive matches without a goal against Mallorca, Girona, Alavés, and Getafe.
Adams last found the back of the net in January, scoring in Sevilla’s 2-1 victory over Athletic Bilbao shortly after the AFCON tournament.
