Alex Iwobi has urged Nigerian fans to expect the same level of intensity and commitment from the Super Eagles as they prepare for their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations round of 16 encounter against Mozambique.
Nigeria head into the knockout stage after a perfect group-stage run of three wins, but Alex Iwobi insists the Super Eagles remain fully aware of the dangers of complacency at this stage of the tournament.
The Hale End Academy graduate was arguably Nigeria's standout performer in their group-stage opener, providing two assists to inspire the three-time African champions to a 2–1 victory over Tanzania.
Against Tunisia, a slick passing move involving Iwobi ended with Ademola Lookman scoring Nigeria's third goal, following the midfielder's secondary assist.
"Of course, we have got three wins out of three games. We cannot get complacent, but I am enjoying my time here," Iwobi told Ademola Victor TV.
Looking ahead to the clash with Mozambique, Iwobi stressed that the Super Eagles will maintain their high standards and fighting spirit.
"The same thing we got in the group stage. We are going to give a hundred percent and try to do our nation proud."
The Super Eagles will lock horns with Mozambique's Mambas at the Complexe Sportif de Fès on Monday, January 5.
