Iwobi's strike against Sunderland finishes second in Fulham Goal of the Month

Alex Iwobi has missed out on Fulham Goal of the Month for February 2026, with Fulham confirming on Tuesday that Kevin claimed the monthly honour for his stunning strike against Manchester United.

The Nigeria international had been nominated for his counter-attacking finish in Fulham’s 3–1 victory over Sunderland February 22.

The Hale End Academy product found the net in the 85th minute to seal the win after the Black Cats had threatened a late comeback.

With Sunderland pushing forward in search of an equaliser, Fulham struck on the counter-attack.

Harry Wilson drove forward before delivering a perfectly weighted pass to Iwobi, whose delicate finish put the result beyond doubt.

Kevin secured the Goal of the Month award with 63.3 per cent of the vote, finishing ahead of Iwobi and Raúl Jiménez, who received 18.6 percent and 10.2 percent respectively.

Iwobi has registered seven goal involvements (4 goals, 3 assists) across 23 appearances in this season’s Premier League.

The 29-year-old has started every league match he has been available for selection, missing six consecutive fixtures while on international duty with the Super Eagles at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Jonah Kusi-Asare, Harrison Reed, Anna Grey and Macauley Zepa were the other nominees for Fulham’s February Goal of the Month.
