Kenneth Omeruo Delighted To Sign New Contract

Nigeria international Kenneth Omeruo says he is elated to have penned a new contract with Chelsea which keeps him at Stamford Bridge until the end of the 2017 - 2018 campaign.<br /><br />The Londoners must have faith in him as they have decided to offer him a new deal despite failing to make his official debut for the club. <br /><br />The central defender recorded one appearance for the Under 21 Team before he was farmed out on loan to Middlesbrough, for whom he made 14 appearances.<br /><br />&ldquo;I&rsquo;m thrilled to sign a new contract with Chelsea and am really excited about the future.<br /><br />&ldquo;To play at such a fantastic club is a real honour for me and I&rsquo;ll be working incredibly hard to be successful. I&rsquo;ve thoroughly enjoyed my time in England so far and can&rsquo;t wait to get going,&rdquo; Kenneth Omeruo told chelseafc.com.<br /><br />Kenneth Omeruo - once of Standard Liege and ADO Den Haag - is currently training with the Nigeria squad at Philadelphia ahead of the World Cup.<br /><br />He has been on the payroll of Chelsea since he was 18.
