Super Eagles midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru scored his first goal of the season as Lazio played out an exciting 2-2 draw against Atalanta in the Coppa Italia semi-final first leg at the Stadio Olimpico.
The encounter was filled with late drama, with both teams trading goals before the final whistle.
Dele-Bashiru gave Lazio the lead early in the second half with a composed finish.
After receiving a clever pass from Daniel Maldini, he showed excellent composure inside the penalty area.
The Nigerian midfielder spotted goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi off his line and produced a delicate chip to break the deadlock in the 47th minute.
The goal marked his first strike of the campaign across all competitions and was a major confidence boost for the midfielder.
Atalanta responded quickly through Mario Pasalic, who restored parity in the 51st minute.
Pasalic reacted fastest after a rebound from a save and fired home to level the match at 1-1.
Both teams continued searching for the winning goal, with substitutions adding fresh energy to the contest.
Lazio regained the lead in the 87th minute through Boulaye Dia, who pounced on a loose ball inside the penalty area following a goalmouth scramble. However, Atalanta refused to surrender.
In stoppage time, Yunus Musah found space inside the box and converted to make it 2-2 in the 89th minute, silencing the home crowd and preserving Atalanta’s chances heading into the return leg.
The result leaves the semi-final tie finely balanced ahead of the second leg, with both clubs still firmly in contention for a place in the Coppa Italia final.
