Millwall's flamboyant winger Femi Azeez has been rated the Championship's best player for the recently concluded 2025–2026 season by WhoScored.
The football statistics website released its end-of-season ratings, with Azeez emerging as the top performer with an impressive score of 7.31.
Occupying the remaining places in the top five are Charlton Athletic's Lloyd Jones (7.26), Millwall's Caleb Taylor (7.25), Hull City's Oli McBurnie (7.18) and Southampton's Leo Scienza (7.17).
Azeez earned the distinction following a breakout campaign in which he reached double figures for goals, scoring eleven in 35 appearances.
The 24-year-old, renowned for his flair and creativity, also contributed eight assists, underlining his all-round attacking influence.
He was nominated for the official EFL Championship Player of the Season award but lost out to Middlesbrough’s Hayden Hackney, although he was still named in the Championship Team of the Season.
Eligible to represent Spain, England and Nigeria, Azeez has expressed a desire to play for the Super Eagles and has been strongly linked with a call-up for this month's Unity Cup.
As he is yet to earn a senior cap for any of the three nations, the former Reading star does not require Fifa clearance to switch allegiance.
Nigeria manager Eric Chelle is reportedly monitoring Azeez closely ahead of naming his squad for the tournament at The Valley.
