Kelechi Iheanacho made a case for himself to be a regular starter in the Leicester City squad after finishing the 2020-2021 campaign as the club's leading scorer in all competitions with nineteen goals.
Even with those goals, the Nigeria international is still behind Jamie Vardy in Brendan Rodgers' pecking order of strikers and he has fresh competition in the upcoming season, with the Foxes bringing in Patson Daka from Red Bull Salzburg.
Iheanacho is hoping to surpass his best scoring season, saying he wants to score more goals in 2021-2022.
The former Manchester City wonderkid and his international teammate, Wilfred Ndidi returned for pre-season training in Seagrave last week.
Speaking to LCFC TV, Iheanacho stated : "Obviously, I scored goals last season. I think, this season, we really need do more and focus on our games. I have a good feeling that, this season, it might fall for us and we’ll get what we want.
"As I said before, we need to concentrate and focus on the games one after the other and hopefully we’ll get there in the end.
"I pray for more goals, but most importantly, more wins and more points."
Iheanacho and his Leicester City teammates face Burton Albion, Wycombe Wanderers and Queens Park Rangers in pre-season matches before battling Manchester City in the Community Shield on August 7.
