Liverpool legend and Sky Sports pundit Phil Thompson singled out two Leicester City players, Wilfred Ndidi and Youri Tielemans, for special praise following their 2-0 win against Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday.
Fresh from international duty with the Super Eagles, Ndidi was outstanding at breaking up rare Bournemouth attacks.
The Nigerian midfielder had a game-high 11 tackles and 5 interceptions, and a team-high 5 clearances, according to stats from Whoscored.com.
''The second half you could really see Brendan's ideas coming to the fore," Thompson was quoted as saying by Leicester Mercury.
''And that's getting the ball quick between the lines , and (James) Maddison was at the heart of that.
"(Youri) Tielemans and (Wilfred) Ndidi ran the game in the second half - It was absolutely fantastic in the second half....''
Ndidi has started and completed 31 of the 32 games played by Leicester City in the Premier League this season.
