Manchester United are plotting a summer move for Nigeria captain Asisat Oshoala, according to reports.
Celebrated Spanish sports daily Mundo Deportivo has reported that Barcelona Femení's second top scorer in the league is in advanced discussions to join Manchester United for next season.
Oshoala is under contract with the Catalan club until the end of the 2021-2022 season but she is looking at moving on to pastures new because she feels she is not as influential at Barcelona as she would have liked.
The 26-year-old has FA Women's Super League experience under her belt, playing for Liverpool first, then Arsenal before transferring to Dalian Quanjian F.C, from where she moved to Barcelona in January 2019, initially on loan before the deal was made permanent.
Oshoala is currently on the sidelines after undergoing surgery on her right foot nine days ago.
A product of FC Robo, she is a four-time winner of the African Women's Footballer of the Year award.
On the international scene, Oshoala has represented Nigeria at two Women's World Cups - 2015 and 2019.
