MLS Club Portland Timbers In Talks With Gbenga Arokoyo - Chris Rifer
Portland Timbers are working on a deal to sign Gbenga Arokoyo in the summer transfer window, according to reports emanating from the United States. <br /><br />Chris Rifer, a contributor to <i>Stumptown Footy</i>, has reported that the Timbers are hopeful of clinching the signing of a central defender before the end of this week, and suggested that the Nigeria international is one of the candidates. <br /><br />Arokoyo, 23, has been on the lookout for a new club following his release by <span class=\"st\">Gaziantepspor at the end of last season.<br /><br />Last month, Turkish First League club Sanliurfaspor were in talks with Arokoyo over a contract, while the stopper personally contacted Kalmar sporting director, informing him that he would love to play for the Allsvenskan team.<br /><br />A product of Kwara Football Academy, the Kogi State native has worn the colours of Kwara United and Mjällby AIF in the past.<br /><br />Igho Kingsley <br /><br /></span>
