FC Porto head coach Francesco Farioli highlighted the importance of Terem Moffi’s long-awaited return to full match action after the striker completed 90 minutes for the first time in a considerable period during their UEFA Europa League triumph against Stuttgart.
Porto secured the tie with a 2-0 win in the second leg, sealing a 4-1 aggregate victory following their earlier success in Germany, where Moffi scored his first Europa League goal for the club in a 2-1 win.
The Super Eagles striker, who joined Porto on loan from Nice, has been working his way back to full sharpness after a period affected by injuries and limited playing time.
The 26-year-old forward has gradually been reintegrated into the squad and continues to build momentum with consistent appearances.
Speaking after the match, Farioli emphasized the importance of the Nigerian forward’s contribution, particularly his ability to complete the full duration of the game.
“William, Moffi played the full 90 minutes, which he hadn't done in a long time... We had a very strong collective and individual performances, and the effort paid off,” Farioli said, as quoted by Ojogo.
Moffi’s full-match involvement marked a key moment for the forward, as Porto combined strong collective displays with decisive individual performances to secure safe passage into the quarter-finals where they will face Nottingham Forest.
