Nigeria, and Jose Peseiro in particular, have been handed an injury boost ahead of their upcoming international international friendlies against Costa Rica and Portugal, with Lorient striker Terem Moffi back in the frame to be summoned for both games.
Moffi passed a fitness test on Saturday, paving the way for the in-form attacker to be included in Lorient's provisional squad for the visit of OGC Nice.
He suffered an ankle injury in the tenth minute of the goalless draw with Stade de Reims on October 15 and managed to play through the pain barrier before he was replaced midway through the first half.
The 23-year-old Moffi did not train fully with his teammates this week, so it remains to be seen whether or not Lorient manager Régis Le Bris will give minutes to the Nigeria international in Sunday evening's clash at the Stade Yves Allainmat - Le Moustoir.
Although Lorient are undefeated in eight straight matches in the Ligue 1, they have struggled without their talisman Moffi, taking just two points from a possible six in their last two matches.
The Nigerian has been Lorient's standout player in 2022-2023, leading the club with eight goals - the fourth highest in the division behind PSG duo Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, and Lille's Jonathan David.
He has also impressed on the international stage with three goals in his last two games for the Super Eagles, a brace against São Tomé and Príncipe followed by his strike in last month's friendly against Algeria..
