Lincoln City will compete in the Championship for the first time in 65 years in the 2026–27 season, after securing promotion with a dramatic 2–1 victory over Reading on Easter Monday.
Heading into the clash at the Select Car Leasing Stadium, the Imps required just a single point to confirm their return to the second tier.
However, Jack Moylan's stoppage-time winner ensured the League One leaders sealed promotion in emphatic fashion, opening up an unassailable 19-point advantage over third-placed Bradford City.
Nigerian centre-back Deji Elerewe played his part in Lincoln City's victory, coming off the bench to replace Dom Jefferies with 23 minutes remaining.
The former Charlton Athletic academy graduate joined the Imps during the January transfer window, signing a long-term deal that runs until the summer of 2029, with the club holding an option for an additional year.
Although Elerewe is yet to make his first start for Lincoln City, he has featured as a substitute on five occasions, accumulating 39 minutes of playing time.
Prior to his move, the 22-year-old made 23 appearances across all competitions for Bromley and impressed by scoring four goals from his defensive positioon.
Born in Croydon, London, Elerewe is open to representing the Super Eagles.
