Nigerian Defender Pens New Four-Year Deal With Chelsea
Nigerian young star Fikayo Tomori has penned a new four-year contract at Premier League club Chelsea, the official website of the Blues has informed. <br /><br />Tomori, who is an England U19 international and eligible to represent the senior team of Canada internationally, has been rewarded with a new deal after starring for Chelsea’s youth teams last term.<br /><br />“It’s good for me, a confidence booster knowing I did well last year and being rewarded with a new contract. Now I’ve got to improve and show my worth,” Tomori told chelseafc.com.<br /><br />“It’s been good to spend the pre-season with the first team, to learn from the older players and know what it’s like to be on a tour and see how they are preparing for the season.”<br /><br />Aged 18, Tomori made his competitive debut for Chelsea on the final day of last season against Leicester City, replacing Branislav Ivanović in the 60th minute.<br /><br />He is training with the first team of Chelsea ahead of the start of the 2016-2017 campaign. <br /><br />Igho Kingsley <br /><br />Photo Credit : chelseafc.com <br />
