English-born Nigerian wonderkid Sheyi Ojo is in line to be registered for the Premier League by Liverpool for the forthcoming season, contrary to earlier reports which suggested otherwise.

The future of the 20-year-old has dominated the headlines in recent days, with reports linking him with possible moves to Newcastle United, Burnley and Middlesbrough on a season-long loan deal.

The Sunderland Echo has claimed that Liverpool have rejected an approach from ex-manager Rafa Benitez for Ojo as he is in the plans of Jurgen Klopp.

The German gaffer identified Ojo as one of the top youngsters at Liverpool shortly after his appointment and recalled him from a loan spell at Wolverhampton Wanderers in January 2016, before handing him his debut against Exeter City.

Ojo helped England win the 2017 Fifa U20 World Cup and was particularly impressive against Italy in the semifinal.
