There is no cause for concern over the fitness of Nigeria international Paul Onuachu ahead of Trabzonspor’s blockbuster Süper Lig showdown with Fenerbahçe on Saturday, 14 February at Papara Park, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Onuachu played through the pain barrier during Trabzonspor's 3-0 demolition of Samsunspor last weekend, initially raising fears that he could be doubtful for the clash with the Yellow Canaries.
However, the towering striker allayed those concerns on Wednesday, smiling for the cameras as he returned to full training after being granted two days of rest following the Samsunspor encounter.
Under the guidance of head coach Fatih Tekke, the claret-and-blue side began the session with a warm-up at the Mehmet Ali Yılmaz Training Facilities before rounding it off with rondo exercises and tactical drills.
Despite a spell on international duty, during which he missed three matches including one through suspension, Onuachu is the joint top scorer in the Turkish top flight with 15 goals in 18 appearances.
He is level with İstanbul Başakşehir forward Eldor Shomurodov, who has featured in three more matches than the Nigerian.
The former Genk marksman heads into the Fenerbahçe encounter in scintillating form, having found the net in six of his last seven Süper Lig outings.
Currently third in the table, Trabzonspor would close the gap on Fenerbahçe to just one point with victory over the Istanbul giants.
