Super Eagles target Tosin Adarabioyo is on the verge of reaching a significant career milestone ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest on Monday.
Tosin, who joined Chelsea on a free transfer from Fulham in the summer of 2024, has endured a difficult campaign, with calf and hamstring injuries limiting his consistency and overall impact.
The former Manchester City defender was expected to lead the Blues’ defence at the start of the campaign following an injury to Levi Colwill but struggled to fully establish himself in the starting lineup.
The 28-year-old has made 28 appearances across all competitions, totaling 1,594 minutes, as Chelsea continue their struggle to secure a Champions League spot.
Despite those setbacks, he remains in contention to start against Forest following Chelsea’s recent struggles, which led to the sacking of former manager Liam Rosenior.
Should he be named in the XI, Tosin will register his 50th start for Chelsea since his arrival from Craven Cottage, marking an important milestone in his time with the club.
In total, Tosin has made 69 appearances across all competitions for the Blues, scoring seven goals and providing one assist.
He has made three starts each in the FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Champions League and Carabao Cup, 12 in the Conference League and its qualifiers, 22 in the Premier League, and six in the FA Cup, bringing his total starts to 49 to date.
Having been an unused substitute in Chelsea’s last three league outings, Tosin will be eager to return to action.
Tosin has represented England at several youth levels but remains eligible to play for Nigeria, having yet to make a senior appearance for the England national team.
