Speaking on the Asist Analiz YouTube channel, former Besiktas midfielder Sinan Engin highlighted the goalscoring prowess of Nigeria internationals Victor Osimhen and Paul Onuachu in the 2025–2026 Turkish Super Lig.
The Galatasaray and Trabzonspor forwards have combined for 42 goals across all competitions this season, with Osimhen registering 19 strikes, four fewer than Onuachu.
By scoring in Galatasaray’s victory over Başakşehir FK, the former African Footballer of the Year extended his run to nine consecutive matches with a goal or assist in the Super Lig, while the Trabzonspor striker is enjoying an extraordinary ten-game scoring streak in all competitions.
With eight matches remaining in the Super Lig, Galatasaray sit atop the table on 64 points, seven clear of third-placed Trabzonspor,
Engin described Osimhen as a title-winning striker and also noted that Onuachu's goals have been crucial in Trabzonspor's push for a Champions League spot.
In quotes relayed by habersarikirmizi.com, he stated: "How can someone like Sadettin Saran, who comes from within the world of sports and football, not sign a striker? You see; a striker makes Galatasaray champions.
"Osimhen leads Galatasaray to the championship. There's no need to explain, you can see it. Onuachu also scored 21 goals. If he had scored 15 goals, the team might have accumulated 6-8 fewer points today."
Osimhen claimed the Super Lig's top scorer award last season, becoming the fourth African to do so after Aatif Chahechouhe, Mbaye Diagne and Aaron Boupendza.
