The Super Eagles will be in confident mood going into their round of 16 clash at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations after maintaining their one hundred percent with a 2-0 win over Guinea-Bissau on Wednesday night.
Of the twenty four participating teams at the AFCON, Nigeria are the only country to have won all their group matches.
Union Berlin attacker Taiwo Awoniyi is aware that the Super Eagles will be facing tougher opposition when the knockout round begins and it will require the players to put in their maximum efforts.
The 2013 U17 World Cup winner watched proceedings from the bench as Nigeria made it three wins from three last night.
"Every point is important for us because we have a lot of confidence. It's just to take every game step by step," Awoniyi told reporters post-match.
"Now we are getting into the real tournament proper which we know we have to do everything to get to the next stage again."
Awoniyi wasn't involved but those players given minutes against Guinea-Bissau got the job done for Nigeria.
The 24-year-old has set the Super Eagles the ultimate target of winning their fourth Africa Cup of Nations title.
"It's all about the unity of the country because we are here together to represent one nation so it doesn't matter who starts, who is playing. The most important thing is to get the three points.
"It's always nothing but the cup in our mind and hopefully we can deliver it," he concluded.
Awoniyi netted his first career goal for the senior national team in their 3-1 win against Sudan five days ago.
