Obafemi Martins Loses Out To Didier Drogba In Goal of the Week Award
Seattle Sounders striker Obafemi Martins lost out to Didier Drogba in
the AT&T Goal of the Week award for last weekend’s matches in Major
League Soccer.<br /><br />The Nigeria international garnered 29 percent of
the total votes cast to finish in second place behind new Montreal
Impact acquisition Drogba, who accumulated 49 percent of the votes
polled.<br /><br />Diego Fagundez (<span class="st">New England Revolution)</span> , Michael Barrios (FC Dallas) and Conor Casey (Philadelphia Union) finished third, fourth and fifth respectively. <br /><br />Obafemi Martins has won the Goal of the Week award three times this season, in week seven, nine and twenty four.<br /><br />San Jose Earthquakes star Innocent Emeghara scooped the accolade in week two.
