With a statement on the official website, Swedish Allsvenskan side IF Elfsborg have announced that an agreement has been reached with Nigerian club Beyond Limits for the future signing of Oladimeji 'Muiz' Abdulmuiz.
Abdulmuiz will complete his move to IF Elfsborg in June 2026, having agreed a three-year contract until the summer of 2029.
The 17-year-old was offered a contract following his impressive performances at the Gothia Cup, where he starred as Beyond Limits won the tournament, defeating Ivorian side ASEC Mimosas in the final.
Abdulmuiz has been described as a confident and uncompromising midfielder with a strong understanding of the game, excelling both in build-up play and defensive positioning.
1996 Olympic gold medalist Garba Lawal spoke positively about Elfsborg, helping convince Muiz and his representatives to choose the six-time Swedish champions over other suitors.
The retired Nigerian international previously played for Elfsborg during the 2004 season, following spells with Espérance, Roda JC and Levski Sofia.
Speaking on Muiz's transfer, club manager Stefan Andreasson highlighted Lawal’s influence: "In competition with several clubs, we have now, after good discussions with Beyond Limits (where, among others, our former player Garba Lawal spoke highly of Elfsborg), signed Muiz on a contract running until the summer of 2029.
"Muiz will first join us during an introductory period to familiarise himself with the club, after which the formal transfer will take place in connection with his 18th birthday in June, when he will become part of our A-team squad."
Muiz can only complete his move in the summer because international transfer rules require players to be 18 before moving officially.
