2019 Golden Eaglets invitee Odel Offiah has extended his contract with Premier League club Brighton & Hove, the Seagulls announced via their official website on Friday.
The promising central defender inked a deal until June 30, 2025 before joining Scottish Premiership side Heart of Midlothian on loan for the remainder of the 2023-2024 season.
Since his arrival at the Seagulls from Bromley on a scholarship deal in 2017, he has received 23 call-ups for first team games comprising sixteen in the Premier League, three in the Emirates FA Cup and four in the Carabao Cup.
Offiah has made five first team appearances for Brighton, including a Premier League debut against Nottingham Forest on April 26, 2023 at the City Ground, where he lasted two minutes on the pitch after coming off the bench.
The 20-year-old helped Brighton to an Emirates FA Cup win versus West Brom on his full debut in January 2022.
His loan move to Hearts means he will not be making his Europa League debut this season but could feature in the group stage of the Europa Conference League if Hearts see off their Greek opponents PAOK in the playoff round.
Offiah has been described as a powerful and athletic player, comfortable in both wingback and centre back positions.
Born in London to Nigerian parents, Offiah has cited Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk and Manchester City's England international Kyle Walker as his role models.
