Premier League club Brentford completed the temporary acquisition of former Manchester United winger of Nigerian descent Deji Sotona on deadline day.
The Irish-Nigerian has joined the B team of the Bees on a loan with an option to buy him from Ligue 1 club OGC Nice at the end his loan spell in the summer.
Sotona has been offered a contract by Brentford after impressing the B team coaching staff led by Neil MacFarlane during a trial period.
The 19-year-old has found game time hard to come by at his parent club OGC Nice but has trained with the first team on multiple occasions.
Speaking on the signing of Sotona, head coach of Brentford B, MacFarlane said to the club's official website : "Deji has electrifying speed and we've been interested in him prior to his move to Nice.
"Our recruitment team have done a fantastic job in producing a trial game recently with the highest performing players.
"He did really well and we're pleased to bring him in. It's a good opportunity for Deji to keep his career moving forwards."
Sotona links up with promising defenders of Nigerian descent Val Adedokun and Daniel Oyegoke at the young Bees.
