English Premier League giants Manchester United have bolstered their academy ranks with the signing of talented striker of Nigerian descent Victor Musa Aigbomian.
St Bede's and St Joseph's Catholic College, Aigbomian's alma mater, have suggested via their official website that the player has signed a four-year deal with the Old Trafford club.
However, FIFA's Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players state that 'players under the age of 18 may not sign a contract for a term longer than three years and any clause referring to a longer period shall not be recognised'.
"It’s going to be hard leaving my friends and family but I have to work hard to get what I want – This is my chance and I am going to take it,"Aigbomian said.
Aigbomian is currently on tour with the Manchester United U16 squad in Northern Ireland, where they will take on Coleraine FC, Ballymena United and Linfield FC between July 26th and July 30th in SuperCupNI Youth Challenge matches.
It took him less than seventeen minutes to open his goalscoring account for the Red Devils in their opening game vs Coleraine FC, tapping in a delivery from Jacob Devaney.
Shola Shoretire and Ademipo Odubeko, who both made their professional debuts last season, represented Manchester United in the SuperCupNI in 2017.
