Official : Mansfield Town Announce Capture Of Manchester United Product Ajose
EFL League Two club Mansfield Town have completed the signing of former Nigeria U20 invitee Nicky Ajose.
The 27-year-old has been loaned out by Charlton Athletic to The Stags for the rest of the 2018-2019 campaign.
Ajose spent twelve years at the Manchester United Academy before sealing a permanent transfer to Peterborough United in 2011 and lists Leeds United and Swindon Town among his former clubs.
Speaking on the deal, Ajose told Mansfield Town's official website : “When this opportunity was given to me to join a team which is pushing, that really was key for me.
''I don’t want to be playing [for a team] that’s direct. I’ve watched a few games here and the football has been brilliant at times, and I thought it would really suit me.''
Apart from the aforementioned clubs, Ajose has taken in loan spells at Bury, Scunthorpe United, Chesterfield, Crawley Town and Crewe Alexandra.
He has represented England at U16 and U17 level and is eligible to play for Cyprus through his maternal grandfather.
