Through a statement on their official website, newly-promoted Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart have announced the signing of former Germany international of Nigerian parentage Dennis Aogo.

Aogo has joined The Reds as a free agent following the expiration of his contract with FC Schalke 04.

The 30-year-old has appended his signature to a two-year contract that will keep him at the Mercedes-Benz Arena until June 30, 2019.

He played for the youth teams of FV Grünwinkel, Bulacher SC, Karlsruher SC, Waldhof Mannheim before signing his first professional contract with SC Freiburg.

The left wing-back will suit up with the number three jersey at VfB Stuttgart in the new season.
