With a note on the official website, MLS side Seattle Sounders have announced the hiring of out - of - favour Nigeria international Onyekachi Apam, subject to the receipt of his P-1 Visa and International Transfer Clearance.<br /><br />Per MLS and club policy, the financial terms plus duration of contract were not disclosed by the capital outfit.<br /><br />Speaking on the signing of the ex Rennes defender, Sounders FC Sporting Director Chris Henderson said : &ldquo;Onyekachi brings vast experience from French Lique 1 and the Nigerian National Team.<br /><br />&ldquo;He is a versatile defender who can play central or wide and has the ability to start our attack from the back as well.&rdquo;<br /><br />In the last couple of months, the former Enugu Rangers ace has been keeping fit by training with an unnamed French club.<br /><br />The 27 - year - old joins fellow Nigeria international Obafemi Martins and American - Nigerian forward Sean Okoli at Seattle Sounders.<br /><br />Photo Credit : uefa.com<br />
