Ogungbo Nets Game-winning Goal For Arsenal Against Rotherham United In FA Youth Cup
Arsenal are through to the next round of the FA Youth Cup following a hard-fought 2-1 win over Rotherham United at AESSEAL New York Stadium on Tuesday evening.
As for team news, goalkeeper Ovie Ejeheri, defender Mazeed Ogungbo and winger Nathan Butler-Oyedeji started for the Gunners while summer signing from Ajax Amsterdam Joel Ideho and Zach Awe were on the bench.
Arsenal took the lead through a brilliant strike from Charlie Patino in the 75th minute but the Millers were back on level terms with eight minutes remaining thanks to Greaves who sent Ejeheri the wrong way from the spot.
The penalty was awarded to the home team after McGuckin was felled by Ogungbo.
However, the Republic of Ireland youth international of Nigerian descent then made amends for his error by netting the match-winning goal two minutes from time as he headed home from Giraud-Hutchinson's corner.
Ideho came on to replace Marcelo Flores for his FA Youth Cup debut in the 61st minute.
Miguel Azeez who recently made his professional debut for Arsenal's first team is eligible to feature in this season's FA Youth Cup but was rested against Rotherham United.
