'One thing is certain' - Former Marseille midfielder Oruma backs Nnadi to impress in France

Former Super Eagles and Marseille star Wilson Oruma has spoken about the arrival of Nigerian midfielder Tochukwu Nnadi at the French club, highlighting both his qualities and potential areas for improvement.

Tochukwu Nnadi has joined Marseille with a profile that excites as much as it raises questions.

Known for his physical power and ability to cover wide areas of the pitch, Nnadi is seen as a dynamic presence in midfield.

In an interview with Africa Foot, via Onze Mondial, Oruma described Nnadi as "a hard-working player, admirable in his physical power and athleticism. He's a young player with stamina who can cover several spaces on the field."

Oruma further emphasized Nnadi’s technical abilities, saying, "He possesses an aggression that allows him to win back a lot of balls. He has a good right foot that gives him the ability to restart play effectively and support attacking moves."

While praising Nnadi’s talents, Oruma also pointed out a potential drawback: the young midfielder’s tendency toward excessive commitment.

He noted, "He needs to improve his energy management. Certainly, he brings a certain intensity to his team's game through repeated efforts, but he sometimes overdoes it with his over-commitment".

Oruma suggested that this aspect of his game could attract attention from French referees.

Despite this caution, Oruma remains confident in Nnadi’s ability to adapt and thrive at Marseille.

"He’s a young player, and I think he’ll use the pressure in Marseille to develop his game. One thing is certain: Tochukwu will bring grit, freshness, and a carefree attitude to the Marseille midfield," he said.

Nnadi’s first opportunity to showcase his attributes could come this Sunday, when Marseille face PSG at the Parc des Princes.
