The atmosphere at the Emirates is buzzing after a wonderful, almost perfect pre season tour of Germany and USA where they won all their games with the acquisition of Gabriel Jesus in particular thrilling Arsenal fans all over the world.

The Brazilian who left Manchester City to join Arsenal and former assistant coach at City Mikel Arteta scored seven goals in five preparatory matches.

Arteta and Technical Director Edu have worked very hard in the transfer market and has spent tons of money on buying quality players aside Jesus like Fabio Vieira, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Marquinhos and Matt Turner.

The club are more focused on letting the deadwood leave for new pastures this summer but they are still in the market for a few players especially in midfield and the right wing as Arteta seeks a cover for Bukayo Saka.

There are links to players like Youri Tielemans, Yéremy Pino and Gody Gakpo but allnigeriasoccer.com believes that Nigeria-eligible Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze should be part of the players to be seriously considered by the Arsenal hierarchy especially on the midfield side of things.

Former Super Eagles invitee Eze whose parents are Nigerians plays in the middle of the pack for Crystal Palace but like Emile Smith Rowe can also operate from the wings if need be.

We think that for a midfield role, Eze will be a better choice for the Gunners than having Grant Xhaka around who has been given a new role even though it will be a daunting task for Arteta to let the influential midfielder leave as he values his leadership attributes in the dressing room.

However on the pitch, Xhaka is most times an accident waiting to happen. He has bagged several yellow cards for the team, most of them avoidable fouls.

Eze is a good player with elegance when on the ball. This is unlikely to happen but we feel an Eze presence in the Arsenal midfield will unlock the potentials of Sambi Lokonga who will have more playing times as a defensive midfielder.

A midfield  triumvirate of Thomas Partey, Eberechi Eze and Martin Ødegaard to feed quality services to the likes of Gabriel Jesus, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli will be tantalizing prospect.

Talking about Martinelli, should Eze be deployed on the left side of attack in our thoughts, that could allow the former Ituano FC of Brazil prodigy interchange with Jesus for the striker position in a season expected to be very demanding due to the 2022 FIFA World Cup commitments.
