Victor Osimhen faces the risk of suspension that could rule him out of a potential UEFA Champions League quarter-final first-leg clash against reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain, should Galatasaray overcome Liverpool on aggregate on Wednesday night.

A third yellow card for the Nigeria international in the round of 16 second leg at Anfield would see him suspended for one match under UEFA disciplinary rules.

Apart from Osimhen, five other Galatasaray players are walking a disciplinary tightrope at Anfield, namely Uğurcan Çakır, İsmail Jakobs, Abdülkerim Bardakcı, Roland Sallai and Noa Lang

The Super Eagles star has been in exceptional form this season, scoring seven goals in the 2025‑26 Champions League.

His tally places him among the leading scorers and highlights his vital role in Galatasaray’s continental ambitions.

Osimhen’s influence goes beyond goals. In the first leg against Liverpool at the Rams Park, he was a constant threat and played a crucial role in Galatasaray’s 1‑0 victory, stretching defences with his pace and physicality.

His ability to unsettle top defenders has been a key factor in the Turkish side’s strong European run.

Liverpool, trailing from the first leg, will be desperate to overturn the deficit in front of their home supporters.

Part of their tactical approach could involve pressing Osimhen aggressively, hoping to disrupt Galatasaray’s rhythm while potentially drawing a caution that sidelines him for the next match.
