Through a statement on their official website, Manchester United have announced the re-signing of former Sweden international Zlatan Ibrahimovic

The experienced frontman has appended his signature to a one-season deal that will run out at the end of the 2017-2018 season.

After penning the deal, Ibrahimovic told manutd.com : ''I am back to finish what I started. It was always mine and the club's intention for me to stay.

''I cannot wait to get back out on that Old Trafford pitch, but I also know that I have to take my time to make sure that I am ready.

'' I have been working hard and will continue to do so to make sure I am in the best possible condition for my return to the pitch.''

For the remainder of this season, the ex-AC Milan, Barcelona and PSG star will wear the number ten jersey, which he has inherited from England legend Wayne Rooney.
