Portsmouth among clubs interested in Arsenal's Nigeria-eligible midfielder
Portsmouth are reportedly interested in signing Arsenal midfielder of Nigerian descent Miguel Azeez.
Football League World claims that Portsmouth are keen to take the 18-year-old for the 2021-2022 season but face competition from other unnamed clubs.
Azeez was involved off the bench when Arsenal thrashed Watford in a pre-season friendly late last month, scoring the pick of the bunch in a 4-1 win.
But it appears the Hale End Academy graduate is not in the plans of manager Mikel Arteta for the upcoming campaign as he was omitted from the matchday roster in their two games in the Mind Series with Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.
Azeez has fallen down in the pecking order of central midfielders at the Emirates following the acquisition of Albert Sambi Lokonga and the return of Ainsley Maitland-Niles from his loan spell at West Brom, while Granit Xhaka's proposed move to Roma has seemingly fallen through.
The Anglo-Spanish-Nigerian teenager has made one competitive first team appearance for the Gunners, against Dundalk in last season's Europa League.
